A grand opening celebration was held on Thursday, October 5th to officially open Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living Community in Boyertown. Construction of this 4 million dollar facility was completed in early September with the first tenants assuming occupancy in mid-September.
Chestnut Knoll is a 55,000 square foot assisted living community, designed by J. Randolph Parry Architects, Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. It is comprised of a 3 story, 44 unit, assisted living building along with a 34 unit, one story wing specifically designed for the memory impaired.
Both state and local dignitaries were in attendance at the grand opening celebration, along with the principals involved during construction. Everyone involved expressed praise for the outstanding teamwork by all who were a part of this project. Through dedication and hard work, this facility was completed and opened within the original time frame and budget.
The completion of Chestnut Knoll marks the end of Phase III of a health care development project originally begun in 1989 by William S. Hollenbach on this 11 acre site. Phase I and II consist of the Boyertown Medical Services Building and Walnut Woods Independent Living Facility, both of which were constructed by Hollenbach Construction, Inc. |
